Our wine and sparkling wine estate F.B. Schoenleber can look back on a 200-year tradition. The quality sparkling wine has been produced in-house since the early nineties. Each year approximately 60.ooo bottles of wine and 20.ooo  bottles of sparkling wine are produced. Since the spring of 2013, we have been members of the Association of German Praedikatsweingueter (VDP).

The estate is now run by brothers Bernd and Ralf Schönleber. In order to achieve optimal results, the tasks are distributed mainly as follows.

Ralf Schönleber (viticulture technician) takes care of the maintenance of the vineyards. The production of healthy grapes with reduced yield for authentic wines and sparkling wines are top priority here. Each task in the vineyard has to be executed at the right time. The harvest should take place at the highest degree of ripeness and flavor of the grapes. For this he has to know exactly the respective levels of development of each vineyard. Bernd Schönleber (viniculture engineer) is responsible for the development of the wines. The wines age with utmost care in his cellar. The fruit and the aroma of the grapes are to be retained. The typicality of each wine is worked out consistently. Consequently, each wine is unique. The two brothers are supported by their wives.

Susanne Schönleber is responsible for office, logistics, and sales at the winery. Bettina Schönleber-Barenhoff is in charge of the hotel and is responsible for all matters related to our hotel.

The senior partners Franz und Katharina Schönleber operate our hotel wine bar and give our guests in every way a pleasant stay.

Our vineyards are cultivated in an ecologically desirable manner. Every second row of vines are planted with grass throughout the year. Large quantities of compost are being used to cultivate and optimize the humus content of the soil and to promote the soil flora. Each vineyard is selected several times until it is completely harvested. The harvest is done both by hand and machine.

We attach great importance to the careful development of our wines. Even the grapes are gently pressed to avoid tanning and sediment particles. The fermentation takes place in refrigerated stainless steel containers over a period of 4 – 8 weeks. After fermentation the wine remains for some time to mature on the lees.

Each year, we produce about 22.000 bottles of sparkling wine. Due to the high quality requirements, we only use the process of classic bottle fermentation. All work steps from the vineyard to the cellar are carried out with the utmost precision and care. Each sparkling wine is unique, a product for which we stand with our name. We produce a characteristic and authentic sparkling wines, where fruit is the focus. That is why our basic wines come exclusively from our own vineyards. So we can determine the grape production and the harvesting ourselves.

Our restaurant and guest rooms have been crafted from 200 year old wood by an Austrian carpenter.  We left him a free hand and his creativity is reflected in our wine bar F.B. Schönleber. He finished the pine (Austrian Zirpenwood) in our main room and two separate rooms of the restaurant with great attention to detail.  In our beautiful “Pineroom“ you can socialize with up to 28 people. Our „Blue Room“ offers space for parties and events up to a maximum of 20 people. Our large dining room with its cozy corners around the fireplace radiates a comforting atmosphere at first glance. Popular is our old, but quite functioning piano. The best place is known at the bar and there is always an opportunity for a chat with the senior partner.  A beautiful terrace with 35 seats rounds out our family hospitality.

The comfortable rooms are decorated in a country style and invite to linger. Every room is equipped with a small table and chairs where you can peacefully rest for the day. You are welcome to enjoy a bottle of wine or quality sparkling wine from our own estate. A substantial breakfast buffet is included in the price.

Our hotel offers 13 double rooms, 3 triple rooms, and 1 single room. Some of the bright, spacious rooms have a balcony and a river view. Furthermore, all rooms are equipped with a shower, direct dial telephone, free WLAN, satellite TV, clock radio and safe. Parking is located directly at the hotel. Upon request a baby crib is available for your use. Pets are not allowed.
